Buying a property in Cyprus is very similar as buying in the UK. As a non-Cypriot you are entitled to a Freehold ownership of a property or a piece of land up to 4,013sq/m. Once you begin the property ownership process and all parties have signed your sales contract, a written application to the Council of Ministers has to be made in order to transfer the property into your name. This can be a long process; however, it does not delay you taking possession of your property. In most cases your solicitor will draw up your sales contract and make your application to the Council of Ministers.
